Turn a selected video clip into a GIF
Choose a clip on the timeline, adjust its size and frame rate, and save a GIF. Learn how to select a precise range and keep a short loop manageable.
Load a video from your device
Select an MP4 or WebM file that your browser can play, up to 100 MB. Playback depends on the video codec as well as the file extension. This tool uses a file from your device rather than a video URL.
Set the start and end on the timeline
Drag the two timeline handles to select a clip of up to 10 seconds. Move the whole selection or zoom into the range for finer adjustments.
Enter start and end times directly when you need a precise cut. Play the selected range to check its first and last moments before converting.
Choose size and frame rate
Choose a long edge of 320, 480 or 640px and a frame rate of 5, 10 or 15 fps. Smaller sources are not enlarged. Start with 480px at 10 fps, then adjust for motion and file size.
To reduce file size, shorten the clip or lower its dimensions or frame rate. GIF has a limited color palette, so gradients and photographic footage may look different from the source.
Preview the loop and download
When conversion finishes, check the loop in the preview and download the GIF. The result loops without sound. Save it before changing settings or closing the page.
